Building bridges, not barriers. We chat with Lingoda’s Vice President of Creative & Marketing Operations, Adrian. We explore Adrian’s path from building the creative team from scratch to leading website and marketing operations. Plus, Adrian shares insights on fostering our inclusive culture.

I joined Lingoda in January 2020 just before the pandemic kicked off. I was fortunate enough to spend a month in the office. Connecting with my colleagues face-to-face was a true blessing before transitioning to remote work. I wanted to join Lingoda because of its mission to build bridges around the world through language learning. As an immigrant from Australia who moved to Germany in 2014, I felt a personal excitement about the immense opportunities we can provide our students through language education.
I started as Creative Director, responsible for bringing our brand, marketing campaigns and website to life. When I joined, there wasn’t a team in place, so I needed to build it from scratch. I hired designers, copywriters and project managers to bring the Lingoda brand to life.
Throughout my tenure, my role evolved beyond Creative Direction, now including the technical management of our marketing website, conversion rate optimisation, content marketing management and marketing operations. I was promoted this year in January to Vice President Creative and Marketing Operations.
Currently, one of my main focuses is on developing our website further to provide the best experience for our prospective customers considering joining Lingoda. This differs from other projects I’ve led as it requires deeper strategy and data analysis from me than in previous roles. I’m really excited to be growing as a professional and expanding my skill set beyond creative to be closer to the business strategy.
My colleagues are undoubtedly the heart and soul of Lingoda. Everyone I work with is extremely passionate about our mission and I love working with like-minded people. As a homosexual man holding a senior management position, I really appreciate the company’s commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.
