Languages taught
Felix and Fabian Wunderlich shared a strong passion for language. After studying abroad and living in different countries, including England, France and Holland, they decided to join forces and start a business that would impact the lives of others. It was a unique point in time as digitalisation was beginning to revolutionise traditional industries.
In 2012 Easy Languages came to life. In the beginning, we offered solely 1-to-1 German lessons through Skype and they were only available on PC.
After six months, we re-branded. Easy Languages became Lingoda and we added English to the platform, together with the introduction of small group classes.
Within three years, we had added French and Spanish to the list of languages taught on the platform. Firstly in private classes but soon they were added to our group classes.
In 2018, we celebrated a fantastic achievement! Lingoda was named in the 2018 LinkedIn Top Startups List, which honours the 50 most sought-after startups in Germany.
After being located in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, we chose Mitte for our new headquarters. We have over 200 employees, coming from over 30 countries and speaking over 40 languages.
To build bridges around the world through language learning
By speaking someone’s language you learn about them, their culture and their ideas. Breaking down the language barrier bridges cultural differences, fosters a world of inclusion and is a first step in helping to address humanity’s challenges. For us, language knows no boundaries.
